Instructions
Step 1: Marinate the Chicken
Mix chicken thighs with soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper, and cornstarch.
Let it marinate for 10-15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Step 2: Prepare the Scallions
Chop scallions, keeping the white and green parts separate.
The white part is cooked first as it takes longer to soften.
Step 3: Cook the Chicken
Heat 2 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
Add chicken pieces and cook until golden brown and fully cooked (4-5 minutes per side).
Step 4: Add the Scallions
Toss in the white parts of the scallions and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
Add the green parts, stir for 10-20 seconds, and remove from heat.
Step 5: Serve & Enjoy!
Serve with steamed rice, garlic noodles, or stir-fried vegetables.
Garnish with extra scallions or sesame seeds.
Notes
Cooking Techniques
Use Chicken Thighs: They stay juicier than chicken breasts.
Cornstarch for Tenderness: It locks in moisture and makes the chicken extra tender.
Non-Stick Pan is Best: Prevents sticking and ensures even cooking.
Flavor Enhancements
Adjust the Sweetness: Add sugar or honey for a slightly sweet touch.
Add Garlic or Ginger: Infuses the dish with extra aroma.
Kick Up the Heat: Toss in some chili flakes for a spicy version.
