Description

A rich and creamy Strawberry Tres Leches Cake made with fluffy sponge, soaked in three kinds of milk, and topped with sweet strawberries and whipped cream. Perfect for celebrations or summer desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 5 large eggs, separated
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or whole milk)
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream (cold)
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • Optional: fresh mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Separate eggs. Beat egg whites to stiff peaks. In another bowl, beat yolks with sugar until creamy. Mix in milk and vanilla.
  4. Gently fold dry ingredients into the yolk mixture, then fold in beaten egg whites.
  5. Pour batter into the pan and bake for 20–25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  6. Poke holes all over the cooled cake with a fork.
  7. Mix evaporated milk, condensed milk, and heavy cream. Slowly pour over the cake.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  9. Toss sliced strawberries with powdered sugar and let sit.
  10. Whip heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  11. Spread whipped cream on the cake and top with strawberries and optional mint.

Notes

  • Use room temperature eggs and milk for smoother blending.
  • Be gentle while folding in egg whites to keep the sponge light.
  • Chill the cake overnight for the best flavor and texture.
  • Add chocolate drizzle or coconut flakes for variation.
  • Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 4 days.
