Description

Strawberry Crackle Salad is a layered no-bake dessert featuring a crunchy pretzel or cookie base, a creamy whipped cream cheese center, and a vibrant strawberry gelatin topping with fresh strawberries. It’s sweet, salty, creamy, and refreshing—perfect for holidays, potlucks, and summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels or cookies
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 12 tablespoons sugar (optional, if using pretzels)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whipped topping or whipped cream
  • 1 package (3 oz) strawberry gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced strawberries (fresh or frozen)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Crush pretzels or cookies into coarse crumbs. Mix with melted butter and sugar (if using), then press into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes and cool completely.
  2. Beat softened cream cheese in a large bowl until smooth. Add sugar and mix until fully combined. Fold in whipped topping gently. Spread over the cooled crust, sealing all edges.
  3. Dissolve strawberry gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved. Add 1 cup cold water and let it cool slightly. Fold in sliced strawberries.
  4. Pour the strawberry mixture over the cream layer. Spread evenly. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight until fully set.
  5. Slice into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Seal the cream layer completely to keep the crust from becoming soggy.
  • Let gelatin cool slightly before pouring to prevent melting the cream layer.
  • Use full-fat cream cheese for the richest, creamiest texture.
  • Chill overnight for the cleanest slices and best flavor.
  • Serve cold for the ultimate texture and flavor experience.
