Ingredients
½ recipe pizza dough (store-bought or homemade).
½ cup of Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce
½ cup red bell bell pepper, thinly sliced
¼ cup red onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons jalapeño, thinly sliced
1 cup chicken, chopped
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 teaspoon black pepper
Optional: prepared pizza dough in place of raw dough.
Optional substitutions:
For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free pizza dough.
If you prefer a less spicy pizza, you can substitute green peppers for the jalapenos.
Instructions
Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
Roll out the pizza dough on a dark cookie sheet or pizza pan, stretching it until thin (For a softer crust, use a lighter colored pan).
Spread the BBQ sauce evenly over the crust.
Add the black pepper over the BBQ sauce.
Spread the chopped chicken evenly over the sauce.
Place the red bell pepper, red onion and jalapeño slices on the pizza.
Top pizza with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese has melted and bubbled.
Serve immediately and enjoy this amazing blend of flavors.
Notes
Perfect crust: If you like a crispy crust, be sure to stretch the dough as thin as possible.
Spice level: You can adjust the amount of jalapeños according to your spicy tolerance – add more if you like a challenge!
