Whether you’re hosting a party or just looking for a quick snack, these pinwheels are the perfect bite-sized treat. Let’s dive into this flavorful and fun recipe!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 can (4-1/4 ounces) chopped ripe olives
- 1 can (4 ounces) chopped green chiles, well drained
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- Garlic powder to taste
- Seasoned salt to taste
- 5 flour tortillas (10 inches), warmed
- Salsa, optional
Instructions
- Mix the Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and sour cream until well blended. The mixture should be smooth and creamy.
- Add Flavor: Stir in the chopped ripe olives, green chiles, chopped green onions, garlic powder, and seasoned salt. Mix until all the ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the cream cheese mixture.
- Spread the Mixture: Lay out the warmed tortillas on a flat surface. Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over each tortilla, making sure to cover the entire surface for maximum flavor in every bite.
- Roll It Up: Roll up each tortilla tightly to form a log. To keep the shape intact, wrap each rolled tortilla in plastic wrap, twisting the ends to seal.
- Refrigerate: Place the wrapped tortillas in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight. This step allows the flavors to meld together and makes the pinwheels easier to slice.
- Slice and Serve: Once the tortillas are set, unwrap them and slice into 1/2- to 3/4-inch slices using a serrated knife. Arrange the pinwheels on a serving platter and, if desired, serve with salsa for dipping.

- Softening the Cream Cheese: Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened before mixing it with the other ingredients. This will help you achieve a smoother mixture that spreads easily on the tortillas.
- Rolling the Tortillas: To prevent the tortillas from cracking as you roll them, make sure they are warm. You can heat them in the microwave for a few seconds to make them more pliable.
- Slicing the Pinwheels: For clean, even slices, use a sharp serrated knife and wipe it clean between cuts. This will help you achieve perfect pinwheel shapes.
