Description

A simple and flavorful marinated mozzarella balls recipe with herbs, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, and olive oil. Perfect for parties, antipasto platters, or healthy snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz (450g) fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine), drained
  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Drain the mozzarella balls well and place them in a clean, sterilized glass jar.
  2. In a bowl, combine olive oil, sun-dried tomatoes, dried oregano, dried parsley, crushed red pepper flakes, minced garlic, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  3. Pour the marinade over the mozzarella balls, making sure they are fully submerged.
  4. Seal the jar tightly and refrigerate for at least 24 hours to allow the flavors to infuse.
  5. Before serving, bring the marinated mozzarella balls to room temperature for about 30 minutes to enhance flavors and texture.

Notes

  • Use high-quality extra virgin olive oil for best flavor.
  • Marinate for 24-48 hours for deeper flavor infusion.
  • Store in a glass jar to maintain freshness.
  • Always keep mozzarella balls submerged in olive oil to prevent drying.
  • Serve at room temperature for optimal taste and texture.
