Description

Hello, fellow food enthusiasts! If you’re looking for a refreshing and flavorful addition to your summer meals, look no further than this Vibrant Mango Salsa with Lime and Jalapeño. Whether you’re hosting a barbecue, need a quick snack, or want to elevate your tacos, this salsa is a perfect choice. The combination of juicy mangoes, zesty lime, and spicy jalapeño creates a taste explosion that will leave you craving more.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled, pitted, and diced
  • 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped (adjust to your spice preference)
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Begin by peeling, pitting, and dicing the mangoes. Finely chop the red onion, red bell pepper, and jalapeño pepper. Adjust the amount of jalapeño to your preferred spice level.
  2. Mix the ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the diced mango, red onion, red bell pepper, jalapeño, lime juice, and fresh cilantro. Stir until all ingredients are well mixed.
  3. Season to taste: Add salt to your liking. Remember, you can always add more, but you can’t take it away!
  4. Let the flavors meld: Refrigerate the mango salsa for at least 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together before serving.

Notes

  • Choose ripe mangoes: The sweetness of the mangoes is key to the overall flavor of the salsa. Make sure they are ripe but not overripe, as this will affect the texture.
  • Adjust the heat: If you prefer a milder salsa, remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapeño before chopping. For more heat, leave some of the seeds intact or add an extra half jalapeño.
  • Add some crunch: For an added layer of texture, try mixing in some finely diced cucumber or jicama.
