Description

Hello, sweet-tooth enthusiasts! If you’re on the lookout for a simple yet satisfying dessert that brings warmth and comfort with every bite, you’re in for a treat. Today, we’re diving into the world of Golden Crescent Apple Delights. This recipe combines the buttery flakiness of crescent rolls with the tangy sweetness of apple pie filling, making it an instant favorite for both kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 cans (8oz each) of refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 can (20oz) of apple pie filling
  • 1 cup (equivalent to 2 sticks) of unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 can of lemon-lime soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 13 x 9-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Open the crescent rolls and lay them flat, separating them into triangles.
  3. Place a spoonful of apple pie filling on the wider part of each triangle. Roll up the dough from the wide end, ensuring the filling is sealed inside.
  4. Arrange the filled rolls in the prepared baking dish, spacing them evenly.
  5. In a bowl, mix the unsalted butter and brown sugar until smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Drop a teaspoon of the butter-sugar mixture onto each roll. Pour the lemon-lime soda around the edges and in between the rolls, avoiding the tops.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown. Serve warm, optionally with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Note: Make sure to watch the rolls as they bake to avoid over-browning. The soda helps create a caramelized sauce that adds a delightful contrast to the buttery dough.

Notes

  • Ensure the butter is at room temperature before mixing with the sugar. This will create a smoother, more consistent mixture.
  • Use a spoon to spread the butter-sugar mixture evenly across the tops of the rolls to ensure each bite is rich and flavorful.
  • Allow the dessert to cool slightly before serving to let the flavors meld together beautifully.
