Description

Welcome to our kitchen! If you’re looking for a quick and delicious recipe that’s perfect for busy weeknights, you’ve come to the right place. These Garlic Butter Chicken Bites are not only simple to make but also packed with flavor, making them a family favorite. Let’s dive into the details of this one-pan delight that’s sure to become a staple in your home.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 20 oz (1 ¼ lb) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp dried basil
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Freshly ground pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp parsley, freshly chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Start by drying the chicken breasts with a paper towel and cutting them into 1-inch pieces. This step ensures that the chicken will sear properly in the pan, giving it a nice golden-brown color.
  2. Season the Chicken: Place the chicken pieces in a bowl and sprinkle them with flour, oregano, basil, paprika, salt, and freshly ground pepper. Toss until all the pieces are evenly coated with the flour and herbs. This coating not only adds flavor but also helps create a slight crust on the chicken when cooked.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Once the oil is hot and the butter has melted, add the chicken pieces in a single layer. Let them cook without moving them for about 3 minutes, allowing a nice sear to form. Flip the pieces over and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Add Garlic and Parsley: Add the remaining butter, minced garlic, and parsley to the pan. Cook for one more minute, stirring to coat the chicken in the garlic butter sauce. The garlic will become fragrant, and the butter will create a rich, flavorful sauce that coats the chicken.
  5. Serve Immediately: Once the chicken is fully cooked, remove the pan from the heat and serve the chicken bites immediately. They’re best enjoyed fresh, while the garlic butter sauce is still warm and luscious.

Notes

  • Use Fresh Ingredients: For the best flavor, use fresh garlic and parsley. Fresh garlic has a more intense flavor than pre-minced garlic, and fresh parsley adds a bright, herbaceous note that complements the richness of the butter.
  • Don’t Overcrowd the Pan: When cooking the chicken, make sure the pieces are in a single layer and not overcrowded. This allows them to sear properly, which enhances both the flavor and texture of the chicken bites.
  • Adjust Seasoning to Taste: Feel free to tweak the seasonings according to your preference. If you like a bit of heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the spice mix.
