Description

Hello, pizza lovers! Are you ready to indulge in a fun twist on your favorite dish? Whether you’re hosting a party, looking for a quick snack, or just want to try something new, these Deep Dish Pizza Cupcakes are the perfect solution. Packed with flavor and incredibly easy to make, they’re sure to become a favorite in your household. Let’s dive in and make some mini pizza masterpieces!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8-oz) can refrigerated crescent rolls (seamless sheet preferred)
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Your choice of pizza toppings – pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms

Optional substitutions:

  • For a gluten-free option: Use gluten-free crescent roll dough.
  • For a dairy-free version: Substitute mozzarella with a dairy-free cheese alternative.
  • Vegetarian: Skip the meat toppings and load up on veggies!

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375ºF (190ºC). This ensures that your cupcakes cook evenly and come out perfectly golden brown.
  2. Spray 8 regular muffin cups with cooking spray. This will prevent the dough from sticking and make it easier to remove the cupcakes later.
  3. Cut the crescent roll dough into 8 squares and press each into a muffin cup, forming a small crust. Make sure to press the dough up the sides of the cups to create a well for your toppings.
  4. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of cheese at the bottom of each muffin cup. This creates a gooey, cheesy base that holds everything together.
  5. Top with 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce. Spread it evenly over the cheese, ensuring each cupcake has a rich tomato flavor.
  6. Add the remaining cheese and your choice of pizza toppings. This is where you can get creative – mix and match toppings to suit your taste!
  7. Sprinkle garlic powder over the toppings for an extra burst of flavor.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly. Keep an eye on them towards the end to prevent burning.
  9. Remove from the pan and serve immediately. Enjoy your mini pizza creations while they’re hot and fresh!

Notes

  • Don’t overfill the muffin cups. Leave some space at the top to avoid spillage as the dough puffs up during baking.
  • Use a seamless crescent roll dough to avoid any gaps in the crust that could cause the fillings to leak.
  • Experiment with different cheeses. While mozzarella is classic, try mixing in some cheddar or Parmesan for a unique flavor.
