Description
Cottage Cheese Chips are a crispy, high-protein, low-carb snack made from baked or air-fried cottage cheese seasoned with herbs and spices. They’re golden, crunchy, and perfect for healthy snacking without guilt.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup cottage cheese (small curds preferred)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried herbs (rosemary or thyme)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil spray or brush of oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Drain the cottage cheese thoroughly using paper towels or a fine-mesh sieve to remove excess moisture.
- In a bowl, mix the drained cottage cheese with garlic powder, onion powder, dried herbs, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Drop tablespoon-sized portions of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, flatten slightly, and space them apart.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes or until the chips are golden brown and crisp around the edges.
- Let the chips cool on the pan for 5 minutes; they’ll continue to crisp as they cool.
- Optional: For the air fryer version, cook at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Notes
- Drain the cottage cheese thoroughly for the crispiest results.
- Use small-curd cottage cheese for even baking.
- Experiment with flavors like smoked paprika, everything-bagel seasoning, or Parmesan for variety.
- Store chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
- Re-crisp in a 350°F oven for 5 minutes before serving.
