Description

A fun and easy homemade Cookie Monster Ice Cream recipe featuring creamy vanilla base with blue coloring, chocolate chip cookie dough chunks, and crushed chocolate sandwich cookies. Perfect for kids, parties, and family treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Blue food coloring (adjust for desired intensity)
  • 1 cup chocolate chip cookie dough chunks (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)

Instructions

  1. Chill your ice cream maker bowl in the freezer for at least 24 hours.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and blue food coloring until sugar dissolves and mixture is smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer’s instructions (about 20-25 minutes) until soft-serve consistency.
  4. During the last 5 minutes of churning, add chocolate chip cookie dough chunks and crushed chocolate sandwich cookies evenly.
  5. Transfer ice cream to a freezer-safe container, pressing parchment paper or plastic wrap on the surface to prevent ice crystals.
  6. Freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm before serving.

Notes

  • For a natural blue color, use blue spirulina or butterfly pea flower powder instead of food coloring.
  • Use dairy-free substitutes like coconut cream and almond milk for a dairy-free version.
  • Store ice cream in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
  • Let ice cream soften at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before scooping for easier serving.
  • Do not refreeze thawed ice cream to maintain texture.
