- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato sauce or marinara

- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or blend)

- Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer over the cheese. Sprinkle remaining cheese evenly on top.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 30–35 minutes, or until tater tots are crispy and cheese is bubbling.
- Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a healthier version, use ground turkey and light cheese.
- Broil the casserole for 2–3 minutes at the end for extra crispiness.
- Leftovers store well in the fridge or freezer.
- Add vegetables like peas, corn, or spinach for more nutrition.
- To make ahead, assemble and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking.
