Description

Cheesy Sloppy Joe Garlic Bread is a 30-minute comfort food recipe featuring thick, crispy garlic bread loaded with saucy ground beef and melted cheese. It’s perfect for family dinners, game days, or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¾ cup sloppy joe sauce (or tomato sauce + ketchup mix)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 loaf garlic bread (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella or mozzarella-cheddar blend
  • Fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with diced onion until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté briefly until fragrant.
  4. Stir in sloppy joe sauce and tomato paste. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened.
  5. Place garlic bread slices on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  6. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture over each slice of garlic bread.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly on top of the meat mixture.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Broil for 1–2 minutes if desired.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use thick garlic bread to prevent sogginess.
  • Simmer the meat until thick to keep the bread from soaking.
  • Mozzarella gives the best melt, but provolone or cheddar also work well.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Cut into smaller pieces for party appetizers or finger food.
