Description

Welcome, fellow food lovers! If you’re looking for a hearty yet healthy vegetarian option, our Cheesy Cauliflower Steaks are the perfect answer. This recipe is packed with flavor, easy to prepare, and offers a gourmet twist on the humble cauliflower. Whether you’re a fan of rich, cheesy dishes or simply looking for a new way to enjoy vegetables, this is the recipe for you.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 large head of cauliflower, sliced into 1-inch thick steaks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Optional Substitutions:

  • Swap mozzarella for vegan cheese if you prefer a dairy-free version.
  • Add a pinch of red chili flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Replace olive oil with coconut oil for a slightly different flavor profile.

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Oven

Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F). This ensures that your cauliflower steaks cook evenly and develop a perfect golden crust.

Step 2: Slice the Cauliflower

Trim the outer leaves from the cauliflower head and slice it into 1-inch thick steaks. Be sure to cut from the center so the steaks hold together.

Step 3: Season the Steaks

Arrange the cauliflower steaks on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season generously with salt, black pepper, sweet paprika, and garlic powder.

Step 4: Bake and Add Parmesan

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the cauliflower and bake in the oven for about 20 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

Step 5: Add Mozzarella and Bake Again

Remove the steaks from the oven and top them with shredded mozzarella. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 6: Garnish and Serve

Garnish your steaks with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and serve warm. Enjoy the rich, cheesy goodness!

Notes

  • Even Slicing: Make sure to slice the cauliflower evenly to ensure all steaks cook at the same rate.
  • Crispy Edges: For extra crispy edges, broil the cauliflower for the last 2-3 minutes of baking.
  • Cheese Variations: Feel free to experiment with other cheeses like Gouda or cheddar for different flavor profiles.
