Description

This Cheeseburger French Fry Bake is a cheesy, comforting casserole made with seasoned ground beef, crispy frozen fries, melted cheddar and mozzarella, and a burger-style sauce. It’s perfect for busy weeknights, potlucks, or family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs ground beef (80–85% lean)
  • 1 bag (28–32 oz) frozen shoestring French fries
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise or burger sauce
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pickles (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef with diced onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce (if using) until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Spread half of the frozen French fries in the bottom of the baking dish. Top with half of the cooked beef and drizzle with ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise.
  4. Layer the remaining fries and beef, then drizzle again with sauces. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly on top.
  5. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, or until the fries are golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Garnish with chopped pickles and fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use crinkle-cut or shoestring fries for a crispier texture.
  • Make ahead by assembling the casserole and refrigerating up to 24 hours before baking.
  • Swap ground beef with ground turkey or plant-based meat for a lighter or vegetarian option.
  • Add jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicy twist.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for 3–4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
