Description

This cozy and creamy chai tea latte is a quick 7-minute recipe made with black tea, warm spices, milk, and a hint of sweetness. Perfect for mornings, relaxing afternoons, or a healthier alternative to coffee.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup filtered water
  • 1 chai tea bag
  • 2 teaspoons (8g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk (any kind)
  • Cinnamon (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Bring 1/4 cup of water to a boil and pour it into an 8-ounce mug. Add the chai tea bag and steep for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove the tea bag and stir in the sugar until fully dissolved.
  3. In a small pot, heat 3/4 cup milk over medium heat until it begins to steam. Do not let it boil.
  4. Whisk the milk vigorously or use a milk frother to create foam.
  5. Pour the steamed milk into the tea concentrate, reserving the foam. Stir to combine.
  6. Spoon the foam on top and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use 1 teaspoon sugar for a less sweet version.
  • Double the recipe to fill a larger cup or thermos.
  • For a vegan version, use plant-based milk like oat or almond.
  • To make an iced version, chill the tea concentrate and pour over ice before adding cold milk.
