Description
Creamy Cajun sausage ravioli is a bold, one-skillet pasta dish featuring spicy Italian sausage, cheese ravioli, colorful peppers, and a rich Parmesan Cajun cream sauce — ready in just 35 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb spicy Italian sausage
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ red bell pepper, diced
- ½ green bell pepper, diced
- ½ large red onion, diced
- 6–7 garlic cloves, minced
- 25 oz bag frozen cheese ravioli
- 1 tbsp garlic seasoning blend
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes
- ¼ cup beef or chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¾–1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- ¼ cup reserved pasta water
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sausage, peppers, onion, and garlic. Cook for 8–10 minutes, breaking up sausage until browned and vegetables are tender.
- Stir in garlic seasoning, Cajun seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in broth, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese. Stir until cheese melts and sauce is smooth. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook ravioli according to package directions. Reserve ¼ cup pasta water, then drain.
- Add cooked ravioli and reserved pasta water to the skillet. Gently toss to coat.
- Simmer on low for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Serve hot with extra Parmesan if desired.
Notes
- Make the sauce a day ahead; reheat and toss with fresh ravioli before serving.
- Reserved pasta water helps bind and silkify the sauce.
- Adjust Cajun seasoning and red pepper flakes for more or less heat.
- Refrigerate leftovers up to 4 days; reheat gently with a splash of cream or broth.
