Description

Welcome to our kitchen! If you’re a fan of spicy appetizers that pack a punch, you’re in for a treat with these Buffalo Wing Poppers! Whether you’re hosting a party, preparing a game-day snack, or just craving something bold and flavorful, this Buffalo Wing Poppers recipe will quickly become your go-to. Combining the classic heat of Buffalo sauce with creamy cheeses and tender chicken, it’s a surefire crowd-pleaser. Let’s dive in!

Ingredients

Scale

  • 20 jalapeno peppers – cut in half lengthwise, seeds discarded
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese – softened
  • 1½ cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup diced cooked chicken
  • ½ cup blue cheese salad dressing
  • ½ cup Buffalo wing sauce

For substitutions, you can use Greek yogurt in place of cream cheese for a lighter option, or try vegan cheeses to make it dairy-free.

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the oven
Set your oven to 325°F (165°C). While it’s heating, prepare the jalapenos by slicing them in half lengthwise, removing the seeds, and leaving the stems intact. This will give them a boat-like shape, perfect for stuffing.

Step 2: Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, diced cooked chicken, blue cheese dressing, and Buffalo wing sauce. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Step 3: Stuff the Peppers
Using a piping bag or a spoon, fill each jalapeno half with the cheese and chicken mixture. Be generous with the filling to ensure each popper has a full flavor.

Step 4: Bake to Perfection
Place the stuffed jalapenos on a greased 15x10x1-inch baking pan. For extra spicy poppers, bake uncovered for 20 minutes. For a milder taste, extend the baking time to 30 or 40 minutes.

Notes

  • Use fresh jalapenos for the best texture and flavor.
  • Wear gloves when handling the peppers to avoid irritation from the capsaicin.
  • Adjust the spiciness by removing more or fewer seeds from the jalapenos.
  • For extra indulgence, top with crumbled blue cheese before baking.
