Description

These Caramelized Brussels Sprouts Skewers with Walnut Honey are a sweet, savory, and visually stunning vegetarian holiday side dish. Roasted to golden perfection, threaded onto skewers, and finished with a warm walnut honey glaze, they’re ideal for festive gatherings, Christmas dinners, or party appetizers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ½ cup walnuts, finely chopped
  • Fresh thyme or parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Toss the halved Brussels sprouts in olive oil, salt, and black pepper until well coated.
  3. Place sprouts cut-side down on the baking sheet and roast for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway, until caramelized and tender.
  4. While the sprouts roast, melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in honey and chopped walnuts. Warm until glossy, then remove from heat.
  5. Thread the roasted Brussels sprouts onto skewers, arranging them snugly without crushing.
  6. Drizzle the warm walnut honey glaze generously over the skewers and let it slightly pool beneath.
  7. Sprinkle with chopped fresh thyme or parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use smaller Brussels sprouts for more even cooking and easier skewering.
  • You can make the glaze ahead and reheat it gently before serving.
  • For added crunch, toast the walnuts separately before adding to the glaze.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven or air fryer.
  • Make it vegan by substituting butter with vegan butter and honey with maple syrup.
