Ingredients
Scale
1 lb/450g raw shrimp (prawns), peeled and deveined
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon coriander
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon avocado oil
3 cups shredded green cabbage
1 cup grated carrot
½ cup fresh coriander (cilantro)
6–8 flour tortillas
Optional Substitutions:
Replace flour tortillas with corn tortillas for a gluten-free option.
For dairy-free, swap the Greek yogurt in the avocado crema with a plant-based yogurt.
Avocado Crema:
½ cup plain Greek yogurt
1 small ripe avocado
3–4 tablespoons lime juice
Salt + pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Season the shrimp In a medium bowl, combine the shrimp with olive oil, paprika, coriander, salt, and pepper. Toss the shrimp until they are evenly coated in the spices.
Step 2: Air fry the shrimp Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 8–10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. The shrimp should be crispy and golden.
Step 3: Make the avocado crema In a blender or food processor, blend the Greek yogurt, avocado, lime juice, salt, and pepper until smooth. Scrape down the sides as needed to ensure a creamy texture.
Step 4: Prepare the cabbage slaw In a large bowl, toss the shredded cabbage and grated carrot with ½ cup of the avocado crema. Add the fresh cilantro for a burst of flavor.
Step 5: Assemble the tacos Warm the flour tortillas and layer them with a generous scoop of the cabbage slaw, followed by the crispy shrimp. Drizzle extra avocado crema on top, and enjoy your delicious Air Fryer Shrimp Tacos.
Notes
Use fresh shrimp for the best texture and flavor. Frozen shrimp can work, but make sure to defrost them properly.
For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding chipotle seasoning or a sprinkle of cayenne pepper to the shrimp rub.
To save time, you can prepare the slaw and avocado crema in advance and store them in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
