Welcome, food enthusiasts! Looking for a quick and easy dish that’s perfect for parties, family gatherings, or even just a satisfying snack? These Air Fryer Pigs in a Blanket will be your new go-to! The combination of crispy crescent rolls and juicy Lit’l Smokies makes for an irresistible treat. If you’re a fan of comfort foods or searching for simple appetizers, this recipe is tailored just for you.
Ingredients
- 8-ounce can crescent rolls
- 24 Lit’l Smokies
- Optional Substitutions: Use turkey sausages for a lighter option, or opt for vegan sausages for a plant-based version.
- Dietary Adjustments: If gluten-free is needed, substitute crescent rolls with gluten-free dough.
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
Unroll the crescent roll dough and lay it flat on a cutting board. Cut each roll into three long strips, giving you 24 pieces in total.
Step 2: Wrap the Smokies
Place a Lit’l Smokie at the widest end of each dough strip and roll it up tightly. Repeat this until all sausages are wrapped in the dough.
Step 3: Air Fry
Spray the air fryer basket lightly with cooking spray. Place the wrapped smokies in the basket, leaving about an inch of space between them. Set the air fryer to 390°F and cook for 5-8 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the dough is fully cooked.
Step 4: Serve & Enjoy
Remove the pigs in a blanket from the air fryer and serve hot with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Use Cold Dough: Chilled dough is easier to work with and creates a flakier texture.
- Avoid Overcrowding: Cook in batches if needed to ensure even cooking.
- Creative Variations: Add a sprinkle of shredded cheese or a dash of garlic powder for an added flavor boost.
