Description

Welcome to a delightful and easy recipe that will surely impress your taste buds! Today, we’re diving into the world of Air-Fried Crispy Chicken Breasts, a perfect dish for anyone who loves crispy textures and juicy flavors without the guilt of deep frying. This recipe is ideal for a quick weeknight dinner or a weekend treat, offering a healthier alternative while maintaining the mouth-watering crunch we all love.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 large Chicken Breasts
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper

For the Bread Coating:

  • ½ cup Fine Breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Onion Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Dried Thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Chili Powder or Paprika

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
Cut the chicken breast into cutlets or fillets, ensuring an even thickness throughout. You can use a meat mallet or rolling pin to pound any thicker parts. This ensures even cooking and prevents any dry spots.
  2. Season the Chicken:
In a small bowl, mix together the oil, salt, and pepper. Coat each chicken cutlet thoroughly with this mixture to ensure the seasonings are well-distributed and the chicken remains moist during cooking.
  3. Create the Bread Coating:
In a separate bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, dried basil, salt, and chili powder or paprika. Press each chicken cutlet into the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring that the coating sticks well to both sides of the chicken.
  4. Air Fry the Chicken:
Place the coated chicken breasts in the air fryer basket, making sure to leave some space between each piece. This allows the hot air to circulate and ensures a crispy finish. Set the air fryer temperature to 200°C (390°F) and cook for 8-9 minutes. Flip the chicken over and cook for an additional 4 minutes to achieve even crisping on both sides.
  5. Rest and Serve:
Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This resting period locks in the juices, making your chicken extra juicy and flavorful.

Notes

  • Even Coating: When pressing the chicken into the breadcrumb mixture, use a gentle yet firm pressure to make sure the coating sticks evenly. Any loose crumbs could fall off during the air frying process.
  • Avoid Overcrowding: Air fryers work best when the food is spaced out. If your air fryer is small, cook in batches to prevent soggy coating.
