- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup holiday sprinkles (red and green)
For the Topping:
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 2 tbsp holiday sprinkles for garnish
Optional substitutions: Replace sour cream with Greek yogurt for a lighter filling. Use gluten-free sugar cookies for a gluten-free crust.
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Crust
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- Combine crushed sugar cookies with melted butter in a medium bowl.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form an even crust.
- Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then set aside to cool.
Step 2: Make the Filling
- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
- Mix in the vanilla extract, sour cream, and heavy cream until fully combined.
Step 3: Add Festive Sprinkles
- Gently fold in the holiday sprinkles to the cheesecake batter for a festive touch.
Step 4: Assemble and Bake
- Pour the batter over the cooled crust and spread evenly.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly jiggly.
Step 5: Cool and Chill
- Turn off the oven and allow the cheesecake to cool inside with the door slightly ajar for 1 hour.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Step 6: Garnish and Serve
- Before serving, top with whipped cream and garnish with holiday sprinkles.
