  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Fold in the sour cream until the batter is smooth.
  • In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Fill each muffin liner halfway with batter. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter and then top with more batter until each liner is three-quarters full.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the muffins to cool slightly. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk to create a glaze.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the warm muffins and serve.

Notes

  • Make sure not to overmix the batter to keep the muffins light and fluffy.
  • Use room temperature ingredients for a smoother batter.
