  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package pre-made pie crust
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • Flour for dusting
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine diced apples, lemon juice, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl to make a slurry, then add to the apple mixture with vanilla extract.
  4. Roll out the pre-made pie crust on a floured surface and cut circles using a 4-inch round cutter.
  5. Press each crust circle into the muffin tin cups, forming a pie shell.
  6. Spoon the apple filling into each crust, filling about 3/4 full.
  7. Drizzle salted caramel sauce over each filled pie.
  8. Create a lattice top or cover with a whole crust and cut small vents.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  10. Remove from the oven and drizzle with more salted caramel while warm. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
