Description

This sweet, spicy, and savory Honey Garlic Pepper Sauce is a quick 10-minute recipe that adds bold flavor to meats, seafood, and vegetables. Perfect as a glaze, marinade, or dipping sauce made from pantry staples.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and Dijon mustard. Stir until smooth.
  2. Add olive oil, minced garlic, crushed red pepper flakes, black pepper, smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Simmer for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens slightly and garlic becomes fragrant.
  4. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 2 minutes before serving or storing.
  5. Strain through a fine mesh sieve for a smoother sauce, or leave it chunky for added texture.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, use tamari or coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.
  • For a vegan version, replace honey with maple syrup or agave nectar.
  • Adjust the spice level by increasing or decreasing the red pepper flakes.
  • Use as a glaze, dip, or marinade depending on your dish.
  • Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 7 days.
