Easy Christmas Gumdrop Nougat Candy Recipe | Festive Treat

Description

Christmas isn’t complete without a selection of homemade treats, and this gumdrop nougat candy is a timeless classic. The combination of chewy nougat and fruity gumdrops creates a burst of festive flavor in every bite. This recipe is not only easy to make but also a perfect activity to enjoy with loved ones during the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups gumdrops, cut in halves

Feel free to substitute gumdrops with your favorite chewy candy or use dairy-free alternatives for a vegan-friendly version.

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Baking Pan

Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal. Set it aside.

Step 2: Melt the Base Ingredients

In a large saucepan, combine butter, white chocolate chips, and mini marshmallows. Heat over low heat, stirring continuously until smooth. Remove from heat.

Step 3: Add Vanilla Extract

Stir in vanilla extract and allow the mixture to cool for about 2 minutes.

Step 4: Fold in Gumdrops

Gently fold in the halved gumdrops, ensuring they are evenly distributed.

Step 5: Transfer to Baking Pan

Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.

Step 6: Let It Set

Cool the nougat at room temperature for 2-3 hours or refrigerate for 1 hour for quicker results.

Step 7: Cut into Squares

Lift the nougat out of the pan using the parchment paper. Cut into bite-sized squares.

Notes

  • Use fresh gumdrops for the best texture and flavor.
  • Ensure the nougat mixture cools slightly before adding gumdrops to prevent them from melting.
  • For easier cutting, use a knife dipped in hot water.
