  • 1/2 cup warm milk (110°F)

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Filling:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional substitutions: Use dairy-free butter or plant-based milk for a vegan version.


Instructions

Step1: Make the Dough

  • Combine warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar in a large bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  • Add melted butter, eggs, remaining sugar, and salt. Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth.
  • Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Step2: Prepare the Filling

  • In a small bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.

Step3: Assemble the Rolls

  • Roll the dough into a 12×16-inch rectangle.
  • Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the surface.
  • Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 even pieces.

Step4: Second Rise

  • Arrange the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.

Step5: Bake

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown.

Step6: Prepare the Frosting

  • Beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Spread over warm rolls before serving.
