Description
These Cajun Chicken Sloppy Joes are a spicy, cheesy twist on the classic sandwich, made with seasoned ground chicken, melty cheddar, and served on toasted brioche buns. A quick and flavorful 30-minute meal perfect for weeknights or game day.

- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp hot sauce (optional)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 brioche burger buns, toasted
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and green bell pepper. Sauté for 4–5 minutes until softened.
- Add minced garlic and stir for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground chicken and break it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 7–8 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low. Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using).
- Let the mixture simmer for 8–10 minutes until thickened.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Toast brioche buns. Spoon the chicken mixture onto each bottom bun, top with cheddar cheese, and close with the top bun.
- Serve immediately while warm and melty.
